A Tough Call
It was a perfect winter afternoon one day in early 1963 when my father decided to take my sister and I tobogganing. On one of my solo runs, my father was forced to make a split-second decision. Does he make a near impossible rescue attempt or score once-in-a-lifetime footage? The answer has been the subject of much laughter over the years.
I see this event as perhaps my first opportunity to appreciate the value of recorded media – something that would become a passion for the rest of my life. Twenty seconds of footage and a story is told. Literally and figuratively, the story delivers some impact.
